When is the best time to fish for marlin, tuna, dolphin (mahi-mahi), sailfish, etc?

I want to fish for a specific species. Can we do that?
Yes, it is possible to target specific species, depending on the time of year, location, water conditions [water temperature, barometric pressure, underwater currents, etc] and the fishing equipment you are using. We will make every effort to fulfill your request.

Do you practice catch and release?
Yes, and we encourage all anglers to practice conservation. Let the mate know that you want your fish released, and they will be happy to take care of it. Unless it is a food catch (eg tuna or dolphin), we recommend catch and release.

What fishing tackle is supplied on the trip?
We are outfitted with the most modern tackle, from Shimano TLD 20's to Penn 130's to challenge any gamefishing situation which may present itself.

Do I need a fishing license?
A fishing license is not required.

Do you have a "no fish - no pay" policy?
No. While we have a long history of successful fishing, there are no guarantees.

Can I fish with my own tackle?
You may bring your favorite rod, if you wish, as long as it is in good condition with fresh line matched to the gamefish you are seeking.

What I should I bring?
Lunch, snacks, beverages, cooler, sunscreens, sunglasses, camera and film, foulweather gear and seasonal clothing. Motion sickness medicine can be inexpensive insurance to make sure you have a good fishing trip. Consult with your physician.

Where do I get my fish cleaned?
Fish cleaning services are available at the marina.

How do I get my fish home?
We carry a lot of ice to insure that your catch is in the best condition possible when it hits the dock. You will need a large cooler to take your catch home. We strongly recommend 1 to 2 pounds of ice for each pound of fillets. This assures that your catch will arrive at its destination in excellent condition for your dining preparation and enjoyment.

Can I have my fish mounted?
Replica mounts are available through the boat. If you are interested in a mount, be sure to let us know so that we can try to get accurate measurements for your trophy.

Is your boat equipped with a fighting chair?
Yes, or you may fish with a rod belt and harness.

What time does Bi-Op-Sea leave and return?
We leave the dock at 5:30am and return between 4:00pm and 5:00pm.

Does the boat have a restroom?
The Bi-Op-Sea has a beautiful indoor salon and an enclosed, comfortable head (toilet).

How much should I tip the mate?
Tip for the mate is normally $150 to $250, subject to your satisfaction with the mate's performance.

What are your rates?

What is your cancellation policy?
We require 2 weeks notice to cancel a trip. If the trip is cancelled due to inclement weather the deposit is applied to a future trip or refunded based on customer's wishes.

Can I make my reservation without making a deposit?
Your tentative reservation is not confirmed until we receive your deposit of $500 if paying by check or $875 if via credit card through Oregon Inlet Fishing Center. When we receive your deposit, we will send your reservation confirmation.

When do I need to pay for my fishing trip?
The deposit must be received to hold your reservation. Balance is due after completion of your charter.
